Introduction
>Flo Cardinal simply has a way with words.
She is one of those outstanding writers who can bring to life any topic she discusses in a friendly, welcoming manner. You can read her articles and find vivid images filling your mind, as though you were experiencing firsthand everything she has to say.
Of course, this clever crafting of words lends itself especially well to discussions of mysterious creatures. And for nearly a year, Florence Cardinal maintained a cryptozoology topic at Suite101, by that very name: "Mysterious Creatures".
Though I have long admired Flo's work at Suite, it wasn't until recently that I became intimately acquainted with her cryptozoological interests. In early October of 2003 I was honored to take hold of the reigns at "Mysterious Creatures", and to continue the tradition Florence began.
It is in appreciation of Florence's dedication to this topic that I present this anthology of her finest cryptozoological articles.
From the classical bogey men of vampires and werewolves, to less common creatures like the chupacabra, Flo weaves for us enthralled readers a rich tapestry of tales based in folklore and modern cultural consciousness. The stories she tells are scintillating--at once frightening, intriguing, and wholly entertaining.
Whether your aim is to scare yourself silly with thoughts of what may be lurking beyond your bedroom window, or to perform genuine research into these anomalous beings, it is my hope that Florence's articles will thrill you and educate you.
